    As a student, a resident in our community, and an executive of the Youth for Environment in Schools Organization, I have already participated in different activities, programs, and events that advocate for sustainability and promote eco-consciousness among people.

Constantly seeking for the silver lining in every environmental challenge—carrying my mission and vision: To Revitalize our community, Reform our practices to promote a thriving environment, and Repurpose our resources for a sustainable future.

     Tree-Planting & Tree-Caring. "He who plants a tree, plants hope." - Lucy Larcom. Planting a tree also plants hope. This is an action to a future where the tree will thrive, providing benefits for the next generations. Planting trees creates a healthier environment because they are crucial for providing clean air, supporting biodiversity, and mitigating climate change. However, one should take note that planting a tree is always incorporated with tree caring to observe progress and ensure growth. In fact, planting a tree creates a positive and lasting legacy, a gift to the world that continues to give long after the planter is gone.

    Coastal Clean-Up. "The world will not be destroyed by those who do evil, but by those who watch them without doing anything". - A sentiment from Albert Einstein. We often watch the sea's calm and still flow, however, we don't notice its roughness and rigidness. Coastal areas are the most prominent to be scattered with wastes, especially plastics that either gets washed up at shores or disposed by individuals. Through this activity, initiative takes place, so marine and sea animals would see the change. Coastal clean-ups are vital for protecting marine life, preventing pollution, and ensuring the health of both the environment and human communities. It removes the toughness and rigidness of the ocean—harmful debris from beaches and pollutants which can injure or kill marine animals. At the end of the day, coastal areas would be in its best state of calmness when initiative and collaboration takes place.

    Community-Based Clean-Up Drive. Each piece of litter picked up, every pathway swept, and every stagnant water source eliminated signifies that our community, Capangpangan, Vigan City takes another step toward a cleaner and healthier environment. Transforming our community into a place where public health is improved, hazards are removed, and pollution is reduced. With dedication and teamwork, our community's vision of a greener, safer, and more sustainable environment grows stronger.

    𝗬𝗘𝗦-𝗢𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙇𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙨. We, the Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) officers, conducted a Clean-Up Drive, to embody one of our core values: Makakalikasan.
    This initiative is set to occur every Friday of the week throughout the whole academic year 2025-2026, with the goal of improving the environment of the ISNHS school surroundings. This transcends mere activity; it represents a commitment to change—carrying one of our emerald mission and vision, to Revitalize our school community.
    This is a YES for improving our environment and also a YES to fostering a sense of responsibility among ourselves, the 𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 set of environmental stewards.

    YES-O Bazaar. Handwoven crafts and preloved items fill the shelves and tables our stall. Colorful woven wallets and pamaypays capture the essence of Vigan City's sustainable talent and tradition. Alongside these, shoppers can discover a variety of ukay-ukay items, a simple act of reducing clothes which are no longer used for selling and donation. This event not only promotes eco-friendly practices but also fosters a sense of shared appreciation for creativity and sustainability.
