Be A Babaylan!
To “be a babaylan” today is to reclaim that space; to lead with purpose and integrity while uplifting others along the way. This celebration goes beyond recognition; it is a movement to accelerate gender equality and build a society where every voice is valued. It calls on women to embrace their strengths, not just in positions of authority, but in everyday actions that influence change. Leadership is no longer confined to titles; it is expressed through empathy, resilience, and the courage to stand for what is right.
At the same time, this movement reminds us that gender equality is a shared responsibility. The word “WE” is not accidental; it signifies unity. Creating an inclusive society requires collaboration across all genders, sectors, and communities. It challenges outdated norms and encourages a future where opportunities are not limited by identity, but expanded by collective effort. In this vision, empowerment is not given; it is recognized, nurtured, and sustained.

Now is the time to rise with intention and lead with heart. Let us honor the legacy of the babaylans by becoming leaders who inspire change, uplift others, and shape a more inclusive world. Be bold. Be compassionate. Be transformative. Be a babaylan—starting today.
